Volunteering
We are reliant on our wonderful group of volunteers who are the lifeblood of the charity. Our volunteers undertake all manner of tasks, from driving the vans, collecting and distributing the surplus, sorting and managing the warehouse, cleaning, van maintenance and more.
In 2018 we were awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The MBE for volunteers. This was a wonderful recognition of the hard work done by our 100+ volunteers who collect, sort and deliver tonnes of surplus food every day.
We are currently looking for Van Drivers, Base Volunteers and Van Assistants to join our awesome team.
– Van Drivers (gap fillers), the shifts tend to be 2&4 hours and involve a degree of heavy lifting.
– Thursday Van Assistant, the shifts tend to be 2&4 hours and involve a degree of heavy lifting.
– Monday Base Volunteers, the shifts tend to be 3&5 hours and involve a degree of heavy lifting.
